Career Overview

“My gifts, passions, and expertise align with helping higher education institutions increase enrollment among underrepresented students.”

Over the last 15 years in higher education and the nonprofit world, I have worn many hats, giving me a wide range of experiences that have honed my leadership, creative, and technical skills.

I led 50 Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) students each summer for 3 years with the Georgia Tech Oxford Program. During those summers, I also supervised staff who were leading two other traveling groups. As we traveled together across Europe, I gained valuable management skills and a deeper understanding of how students learn and communicate.

Georgia Tech

Before I started my most recent position, I spent 5 years working in Georgia Tech’s Office of International Education (OIE) where I gained valuable insight into program development, coordination, and recruitment as Program Coordinator for the GT Oxford and Pacific Programs.

Accomplishments:

  • During the program development stage each year, I set up housing, airline tickets, transportation, and academic outings in 7 major European cities and cities in Australia and New Zealand. I am not only skilled in planning events–I can coordinate the details across international borders and cultures.

  • I led 50 Georgia Tech students across Europe for three summers with the Georgia Tech Oxford Program while supervising staff in similar positions leading two other traveling groups. I also represented Georgia Tech in site visits to New Zealand and Australia, and in visits to exchange partners in England, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark, and Sweden.

  • Over the course of those 5 years at Georgia Tech, I used my interpersonal, multitasking, recruiting, and administrative skills collaboratively with my teammates and various Georgia Tech and international partner university departments. As a result, I helped more than 600 students have successful academic and growth experiences abroad.

Working at All Souls allowed me to continue to connect with students and recent graduates. These 2 women helped me by volunteering their writing and video production skills.

All Souls

In my most recent position of leading Communication, Marketing, and Administration at a church, my role was to establish structures and systems for communication while managing administrative operations.

Accomplishments:

  • When I started at All Souls, the organization had no consistent system for internal or external communication. I created an organization-wide communication and marketing schedule, set up multiple communication channels (website, email campaigns, videos, and social media), helping the organization run more smoothly and widen its service to the community.

  • In 2014 and 2015, I coordinated a national leadership conference hosted by our organization with more than 150 attendees from across the U.S. For this three-day event, I developed the logistical plan and schedule, secured conference housing, secured air transportation for speakers, planned and booked catering, coordinated breakout session logistics, created on-site hospitality, coordinated an online conference guide, led conference check-in, developed resources for local dining and activities, and led conference volunteers.

  • In 2020, I partnered with my supervisor to create a video production studio in our building, which allowed us to live stream our weekly service when we went to an online-only presence for six months during the pandemic. I served as executive producer and led 2 part-time staff and a team of 8 volunteers for the weekly live-stream broadcast.

  • Also during the pandemic, I led the Communications Advisement Board and spearheaded a comprehensive PR strategy for resuming in-person services after the pandemic; I collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless transition that prioritized the well-being of the community.

  • I produced compelling videos, online content, and printed assets to tell the stories of members, service partners, and work in the community. These products and campaigns resulted in new members, increased attendance at events, and greater funding for the mission of the organization.

Sabbatical

In March, I took the opportunity to plan for my next career chapter by going on a sabbatical, which included engaging with diverse cultures across the U.S. in the spring, the United Kingdom in June, and South America in August. Traveling sparks my creativity and gives me a fresh perspective. During my sabbatical, I also focused on a bucket list item to visit every continent (bringing my total to 6 out of 7). In the fall, I continued my training with online courses in content strategy, social media marketing, and SEO content writing.

Through my experiences, I've realized that my gifts, passions, and expertise align with helping institutions increase enrollment among underrepresented students. I am eager to again use my creative communication skills and experience in higher education.

Let’s work together.
